Berrigan: Crime Trials

This collection of works is based on the trial of the United States vs. Berrigan, 1968. The significance of this trial is that the courts refused to recognize the moral opposition to the Vietnam War as a legal defense to prosecution for criminal acts of defiance, with the primary example being the Berrigans’ raid on a Selective Service office.

In collaboration with Ivan Ruzika, Robert Ernst Marx created this 8-etching, 7-poem portfolio as commentary on the case.

Portfolios are available for purchase at a value of $950. Inquire for more information.
